We Can Help You - Right NOW!

I have been practising law, with my own firm now, for twenty five years. Seven years ago I set up the roadtrafficlaw.com website because I wanted to attract more business that was related specifically to an area where I enjoyed the practise of law.

My court craft had been pretty well developed over two decades of defending all types of criminal cases from Breach of the Peace to Murder. However every time we dealt with road traffic cases I could see technicalities that other lawyers weren't opening their minds to.

When you are dealing with a legal aid practise you require to deal with a lot of cases to make the figures stack up. You have all the office and staff costs and you know that your hourly rate is restricted to around £40.00 per hour. I suppose that sometimes quality suffered because I just had to be in 7 places at once.

The practise was and continues to be a success but personally I felt it was time for a change. (It is now run by my very capable partner Ian Sievwright and frankly it has never seen such a volume of serious crime. A subject that Ian thrives on!)

At first business was pretty slow with our road traffic law business however over the past couple of years with the proliferation of speed cameras business has started to increase.

More lawyers are trying their hand at this area of law every day and I guess the market will continue to grow over the next few years, as we see the pressures on the legal aid system increasing. No one has a magic bullet or a crystal ball in this field of law and every lawyer will require to do their own research and make their own challenges in court. We have had some notable successes but every case is different and requires to be investigated upon its own merits.
