Testimonials

Mr Walker did what two other legal adviser's failed to do! After lengthy consultation and advice with two other solicitors they failed to sort this case for me. Mr Walker took a "Late plea to the competency of the charge" *(Late because other advisers failed to take the point) He successfully argued that the point should be debated although this was opposed by the PF but allowed by the court after representations made by Mr Walker. He later attended court and argued that the case should be thrown out....which it was. Delighted with result and happy to recommend Mr Walker's firm to anyone who needs a good road traffic lawyer.
, Coatbridge Justice of the Peace

After pleading guilty to a charge of dangerous driving, mainly due to not understanding fully the consequences, I received a letter from the Procurator Fiscal rejecting my plea. I found out I would be liable for a minimum of 12 month ban, and should seek legal advice. After speaking with 2 other firms, both of which were extremely unhelpful (verging on rude), I called Road Traffic Law and spoke with Kirstin Ferguson, who was very helpful and positive about my case. I met her a day later to discuss my case, and she immediately pointed out a few problems with the statement of evidence provided by the Procurator Fiscal. 2 days later she called to advise that after speaking to the PF, my case had been dismissed due to a technicality! Being almost 6 months pregnant and extremely stressed over this situation, I cant believe its actually over and can only stress how helpful Kirstin was in resolving this matter so quickly. I would not hesitate in recommending Road Traffic Law, and Kirstin in particular, to everyone.

THE CHANGES

On 23 February 2009 District Courts in Tayside, Central and Fife will become Justice of the Peace Courts. This will be the fourth stage in a phased programme of unifying the administration of Scotland’s courts under the management of the Scottish Court Service (SCS).

The main changes will be that: District Court in Tayside, Central and Fife will be known as Justice of the Peace Courts.

Changes to Court Locations

Perth, Dunfermline, Falkirk and Stirling Justice of the Peace Courts will relocate to the Sheriff Court buildings in these towns as soon as this can be arranged.

The current plan would see the move in Falkirk take place by March 2009 and those in Stirling and Dunfermline by February 2010.

Plans for the move in Perth are still being developed. In the interim, Perth, Dunfermline, Stirling and Falkirk Justice of the Peace Courts will sit in the former district court until they can be accommodated in the sheriff court.
