Our client was found Not Guilty after a two-day trial. This was a case with a number of elements including an alleged speed of up to 110mph, an overtake on a ‘blind’ bend and an overtake on a road with ‘hidden’ junctions. Our case preparations made clear that the bend was not blind and the subsequent junctions were not hidden. Moreover the speedometer used to measure our client’s speed had not been tested. In just one example of many failings in the Crown’s case, When faced with our video evidence, the police witnesses proceeded to identify completely different bends. The case is another example of the importance of video evidence.
